NEVADA MUSEUM OF ART
3:00pm - 5:00pm
LIGHT IN THE WATER shares the empowering story of West Hollywood Aquatics, the first openly gay masters swim team, from their founding in 1982 for the first ever Gay Games in San Francisco, through the AIDS crisis, and up to the present day. A television version of the film premiered on Logo TV last June and it has now screened in over 10 film festivals around the world, including Paris, Glasgow, Sydney, London and Palm Springs, where in January it was voted "Best of Fest" by audiences. We're so excited for this Nevada premiere! Reno native Director / Producer Lis Bartlett, as well as Executive Producer Taj Paxton of Logo Documentary Films will be in attendance.
6:00pm - 8:00pm.
TOP SHORTS includes screening of films featuring the best short films submitted from across the globe and award presentations. A complete lineup of films will be announced in mid-April.
On Sunday, the festival concludes in the afternoon at the Bruka Theatre with a two hour short film block “Love in the Afternoon”.
Proceeds from the screenings to benefit Our Center Reno, the Nevada Museum of Art and Bruka Theatre.
